Game On: Counting Down the Final 100 Days

By Myra Ross - Wednesday, May 6 2015

From August 7 – 16, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo hosts the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games, a 10-day sport competition and fellowship extravaganza that will draw an estimated 2,500 young athletes to our region as well as thousands of coaches, officials, family members and cheering squads.

As of April 29 and the 100 Days Out Celebration, the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games sponsors, staff, committee directors, sports associations, corporations, businesses and volunteers are suiting up to showcase our region as a community of opportunity, achievement and pride.

Their efforts are motivated to a degree by the belief that the guests of the Games will return to their home communities and cities with stories of amazing sport competitions, hospitality and infectious community spirit and resilience.

Over the coming months, while anticipation builds, will feature the local talent and expertise of community members who are in the process of making the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games one for the record books.

Game on!
